Towards the end of the course, everyone was going out to get jobs, and to be honest, the jobs they were going to work at were uninspiring. Students received a scholarship and were surrounded by an amazing, high-quality bunch of people. We met at university and we were unusual in that we were both in a scholarship course funded by industry (ironically, Atlassian is now one of the larger sponsors of this same program). Sure, I always joke that it’s a terrible origin story because I think the world wants entrepreneurs to say, “There's a big mountain we're going to be the first people to get to the top of this mountain! We're going to go to Mars!” and they do just that. How did you meet Scott and how did Atlassian come to be?. Let's start with Atlassian’s origin story.
